i have decided that ignoring my niece and nephew during the holidays, is the most unloving thing i could possibly do.
they stopped celebrating christmas and birthdays, after my sister began studying with jw's about 6-7 years ago.
we did not celebrate either, until 3 years ago, when my son was 2 and my daughter was 4, and we'd figured out that the jw's are wrong about this decision.
It's easier to just accept that you have different viewpoints on the subject. If she accepts yours, thank her and let her alone to live by her choices.
You can always show your family affection by sending a gift outwith the mandatory gift-giving season.
it's a rather large red book.. if i wanted to purchase one from a pioneer, how much would it cost?.

Can you not download a copy of the Watchtower CD ROM and access it from there?
has anyone got a download link for the watchtower cdrom for this year?
i check google every now and then but can't find one.
perhaps the borganisation can't afford to produce a cdrom with all these child abuse cases they are paying out for?
It wouldn't surprise me if the next CD ROM didn't become a collector item, due to the GB stopping its production and announcing its demise at next year's Annual Meeting.
It's just too useful for unearthing the Org's skeletons in the cupboards!

so last night i had a family meeting and told my kids that i was quitting as a jw and then gave my wife my da letter to give to the one elder i like at the hall tonight.
so this morning i see a text from the co elder the one that met with me and is gunning to get me out and had already tried to get me to a jc meeting this week.
so the text reads "your wife has informed me of your letter and its sad to hear, would like to meet one last time not as a jc, to be sure this is what you want.".
Big mistake playing by their rules!
I'd contact the 'nice' elder and tell him to destroy the letter because you''ve been going through a lot of stress lately. Then use your anguish as a justification for not meeting with the Rottweiler elder!
That'll really cheese him off!
P.S. Remind wife that you are the head of the household, and as such, you don't want her discussing with ANY brothers your household business or anything to do with you. Tell her to direct any questions to YOU!
i've been out the organisation for around 8 years.
when i first left, im positive that i suffered from some sort of post traumatic stress.
i was very angry at myself for accepting the really bad parts of the religion that i strongly disagreed with.
The physical body requires feeding. Likewise, the spiritual needs which humans have, also require an upbuilding source. Sadly, most people are unaware/ignore the proddings of their spiritual side, until some event in their life awakens them to the fact that life is not just the physical!
I've seen a famous Brit in tears because she had just witnessed the aurora borealis, and other individuals who were breathless with awe after swimming with dolphins and said that it was a spiritual experience.
If you have a spiritual side, nurture it in every way possible!

i gotta kick out of this because i can only think of maybe two or three new ones in our congregation who weren't present when this book was first studied.
at the same time, going over jehovah's qualities isn't something new.
The following Scripture totally encapsulates what is taking place week in, week out at Kingdom Halls and 3 times each year at the assemblies and convention - nothing new, let alone encouraging, just the same old "do more and give more":
(Hebrews 5:12) " For, indeed, although YOU ought to be teachers in view of the time, YOU again need someone to teach YOU from the beginning the elementary things of the sacred pronouncements of God; and YOU have become such as need milk, not solid food."

Just read Clarke's Commentary on the Bible. Regarding all the signs which Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24, Clarke details how everything Jesus said WAS fulfilled in the 1st century.
i conducted the wt study tonight on higher education.
i wondered what the reaction of the bros and sis would be.
there was no deviation from the idea that a university education is not a good idea.
THE DOG1 - Guard your conscience and find a reason to ditch the study.
I did this with someone I was studying with - a sister's unbelieving husband.
I simply told him that "doing a question and answer book wouldn't open your heart and mind to the truth - study the Bible, and if you've any questions I can help you with, just ask."
Worked a treat!
